With the sand beneath our feet

On a warm and sunny day,
Six friends came together and said 'Hey,'
Let's get on a plane and fly away,
But one of us said,
No, let's take the train today.

And today we went, because we just had that day,
We rolled in the sand and buried people that day,
Guards would come whistling and start shouting 'Poda Dei',
But nothing was going to ruin it for us that day.

Through some magical luck, our day never went fast,
We sang, we danced and we drank to the sip last,
After everything was done, we shuffled across the tracks to where our train stood,
The feeling that we had to go back was not quite understood.

When we sat in the train, I told my friends,
'Guys, wasn't that an amazing day?'
We could have had more fun today,
But since today was all that we got, we made the most of it anyway.
And we all toasted to our friendship and yelled 'Poda Dei'!
